third annual ornament exchange.

nicholas and i had our third annual ornament exchange this weekend. we also put the tree up! it didn't really feel like christmas until the tree was up. now it's just perfect!

we like to get ornaments that have some sort of meaning for that year. we had a LOT of meaningful events this year. we were engaged and married, we honeymooned in hawaii and we moved from Texas to California.

so this year, from nicholas, i received...
sunglasses in honor of hawaii!
 and,
a cute little engagement ring in a heart ring box!
thank you lover!

and i gave nicholas...
a chapel

 and,
a (kind of creepy) bride and groom.
i couldn't find a normal looking bride and groom.
or a brunette bride for that matter.
but we get the point!

i LOVE LOVE LOVE our tradition and want to do it every year.
it was so fun reminiscing when we put the last years' ornaments on the tree!

click here to read about how the tradition started and what we gave each other the last two years!

I love the glasses!! I have bought Ty an ornament every year since our freshman year of college. It is a fun tradition. Maybe I need him to start reciprocating...

That's such a good tradition, Lacey! And something you can get your kids involved in someday. If you are to continue the two ornament per gift though, you may need a bigger tree...or several christmas trees :)
