...riding around san francisco in a cable car decked out in 80s wear and bar hopping. 

oh yeah!

on saturday, me, nick and about 78 of our co-workers took to the city and didn't stop believing until billie jean was livin' on a prayer... if you know what i mean! 

i found a classy formal dress at goodwill for $14, teased my hair and loaded up on blue eyeshadow and i have to say... i pretty much loved it! 

nick opted for a blonde mustache and a women's blazer. haha.

we hopped on the cal-train just before it took off and the party started right then and there. 

we made our way to gordon biersch and met up with the rest of the group.

it was SO FUN to see everyone dressed up in their get-ups and get to know people outside of work. 

my absolute favorite part was hanging out the cable car, blasting music and waving to all the pedestrians and tourists as they gawked at us and took pictures!

 we stopped at mcteague's saloon, bar none and fiddler's green.

don't you just love the back?!

wish we did this once a quarter, rather than once a year.

we're back from our vacation in texas and my y'all is as strong as ever. :) we had so much fun on the coast - fishing, playing at the beach, eating good food and my favorite... spending time with the fam. work and searching for a new place to live is consuming my life right now, but i can't wait to post more pictures from our trip soon. and, i have 1000+ blogs to catch up on my google reader! wow.

scouring the internet for a new place to live. our lease is up soon! (ps. what you get for the money in california SUCKS has room for improvement.)

admiring my new napkin holder. i love it! i got the dragonfly weight, but they have weights for all different  seasons... so i'll have to expand my collection soon.

lounging in my yoga pants. they go perfectly with the ice cream i just finished and my comfy couch. oh, yeah, forgot to go to yoga.

giggling as i remember silly lines from horrible bosses... it was hilarious!

wishing it was a week from tomorrow - i'd be on a plane to texas to see the fam for a week.

belated birthday wishes.

i haven't been my blogging self because my computer is acting up. clicking on one link takes twenty minutes and usually it just freezes when its loading and the only fix is to turn it off and start over. it's pretty frustrating. i'm on my work computer now, just because I want to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my grandpa, Dandy. my mom told me he reads my blog, which is so cool.

so Dandy, happy birthday!

fourth of july, via my iphone...



summer is here in full swing and this weekend was nice and warm. we had a wonderful holiday weekend.

friday, nicholas and i had a movie date and saw Midnight in Paris... it was so cute. i would recommend seeing it! and, i really want to revisit paris soon. oh and so random but, i loved the name of rachel mcadam's character in the movie - Inez.

saturday, we laid out by the pool at our apartment. i started reading The Hunger Games and I'm so into it! I'm already halfway through the second book of the trilogy, Catching Fire. that evening we went over to my new friend jenny's house for an al fresco dinner party. we played a board game and drank (too much) sangria and ate a delish summer lasagna. lately, even when its in the 80s and 90s during the day, the temperature drops of to the upper 50s. but, on saturday, the weather was warm enough during the day, that the evening was gorgeous. it cooled off, but was still so enjoyable outside.

sunday... well sunday we had big plans. live music at a nearby winery and music in the park. but, like i said, i had a little too much sangria, so i spent my day lounging in bed and by the pool trying to get rid of my wine headache.

monday, we drove up to sausalito, just north of the golden gate bridge. we took chairs and blankets and a cooler full of snacks. we found a park with live music right on the water at the marina. we stayed there all afternoon and evening until the spectacular fireworks display over the bay. we could also see the san francisco fireworks show in the distance... so cool!

oh, and i did pretty well on my to-do list... checked them all except that i couldn't find any sparklers at the last minute and i substitued patriotic strawberries for the apple pie. :)

fourth of july todo list.

in college, my friend/roommate/sorority sister/partner in crime, lauren, and i made a check list of all the things we wanted to accomplish on the 4th of july. we were SO CLOSE to checking everything off. 

this year, i don't think i'll have to worry about finding a boy to kiss! :)
