so, we did something crazy on saturday... we brought a dog home!

this is alfie:

he is a rescue dog, so we don't know a whole lot about his history. we think he is a brittany/irish setter mix, and he's about 3 yrs old. we get to foster him for a few weeks to make sure he is a good fit for us and we are a good fit for him before we officially adopt him. but so far, so good.

alfie is such a goofball! he thinks he is a little lap dog... but he definitely is NOT! he's actually about 60 pounds. inside of our house and yard, he is such a sweetheart. all he wants to do is to give you kisses and be petted. he follows me around like my shadow, and just wants to hang out with us. outside of our yard he's a little timid, so we're signing him up for obedience classes to build up his confidence and his trust in us.

this is quite the adventure that we've set for ourselves! i've been reading up on alllllll kinds of training techniques because i want to make sure we are really good doggie parents. we are so excited to have this little guy as a part of our family!

oh my gosh. he's so cute. also oh my gosh because i have a brittany spaniel and i don't meet many others who have them. if alfie is a brittany mix, you're in luck. isabelle (my brittany) has been the best dog in the world and i'm sure alfie is the same since most brittany's are pretty great!!

Getting a rescue dog is one of the best things I ever did! Mine was terrified of everything when I got him and obedience school completely turned that around! Good luck!! Life is happier with a pet :)
