i just got these beauties in the mail from zappos! i haven't even worn them yet, but i love the broken-in look. they are the perfect shade of grey (hehe) although they look a bit more brown in the picture.
my fall uniform is going to consist of these boots, leggings, and a pretty patterned scarf.
have a happy weekend! we'll be having friends over to cheer on the huskers and the horned frogs tomorrow and i'm making the best spicy shredded pork tacos! it really must be fall with all this football on.
after our glorious meal at torchy's tacos, we drove over to zilker park to check out barton springs. when we got there, i had total deja vu! i had been to barton springs before and didn't even realize it!
it all came back to me when we got there! when i went to Austin City Limits several years ago (maybe i was still in high school?!) we went to barton springs to swim after being in the sun all day watching live music. i didn't really put it together until we got there. how funny is that!
after visiting the springs, we headed to south congress which is a fun and happenin' street in austin. we grabbed some drinks at guero's taco bar garden and listened to some live music. (you can always find live music in austin!)
after a while, we decided to head back to the hotel. as we were walking to our car we walked by amy's ice cream so we just HAD to stop (1 of 2 visits to amy's while we were in austin!).
i could dedicate a WHOLE post to food.
and not just any food,
but the amazingly delicious food that we had in austin, texas
(the greatest state ever)
while we were there for labor day weekend
to celebrate our anniversary!
we ate a lot of really, really good food in austin
and we did so many other fun things worthy of sharing,
but that post would be WAY tooooooo long -
so i'll just start with day one:
thursday, august 30
when we landed in austin, i knew i had to get some mexican food immediately. but, we had to pick up the rental car, drop our bags off at the hotel...
change our clothes (shorts, please!) and then, figure out where we wanted to go.
i had read a lot of great recommendations about torchy's taco, so that's where we headed. nevermind that it's in a trailer! can i just say - omg! these tacos were delish. and the queso!!! lord, i've missed queso. why does california not have queso?!?!
we were 1) really hungry and 2) so excited for our meal that we STUFFED ourselves. we wanted to try everything and it was all so good!!
and then, after all of that food, we were ready for a nap. haha.
but, we powered through and made our way to zilker park to check out barton springs...
