first stop - windsor. let me just start by saying i love english history, especially tudor history, and it was so fun exploring all the castles and historic royal places. we got to see the changing of the guard at windsor castle and tour the state apartments there.
leaving windsor, we drove right by ascot (wouldn't it be nice to visit the royal ascot in the summer and wear a pretty dress and hat?! - ah, another day!) and headed to see the ancient monument Stonehenge...
the fields around stonehenge were covered in a cloud of fog when we visited, which made the grounds and barrows (graves) around the stones very eerie!
(doesn't this picture remind you of our trip to barbados?!)
our third stop of the day was the oh-so-charming town of bath. i was oooohhing and ahhhhhing as we rolled into town... everything was so picturesque. i could totally see myself living in bath for a year!
while in bath, we visited the 2000 year old roman baths. they were just amazing.
we could see the steam rising off of the hot baths...
it would have been nice to jump in and warm up if the water wasn't so gross!
check out the cleaned stone on the left and the dirty stone on the right!
believe it or not, we did manage to find a pub in bath...
this was my first beer of the day:
haha, i'm serious!
i was just trying to keep up with my silly husband.
ah, that's better...
and, to top it all off, we finished our wonderfully amazing and full day of english fun with fish and chips (for me) and a steak and ale pie (for him).
@punch and judy's - covent garden.
next time i am in england, i would love to see oxford, cambridge, dover and the cotswolds... when can i go back?!?!?

this year for thanksgiving, i promised nicholas i would make him Thansgiving dinner and let him watch football all day. (in exchange for him being on dishes duty, of course!) instead of turkey, i made each of us a cornish game hen. it was delicious! and, we used our amazing wedding china. love!
slaving away in the kitchen with my wine.
(i don't think i could find a picture of me without a glass of wine. whoops!)
the baked sweet potato was my favorite part! and, the stuffing. and the... ok, it was all good.
and, i must add that TCU won the football game vs UT - our new Thanksgiving rivalry.

one of my favorites things in london was having afternoon tea at claridge's.
when we stepped into claridge's we really felt like we stepped back in time. it was so elegant and glamourous and refined. it was very art deco and fancy, but also welcoming and warm.
for our afternoon tea, we had a choice of over 40 teas (we each tried two), finger sandwiches, pastries and scones with Marco Polo jelly and Cornish clotted cream. at 39GBP (~$65) per person it was not cheap, but it was definitely worth it!! (and you know we absolutely stuffed ourselves to get our "money's worth"!) :)

yummy! i think i could make a habit out of this!
