If it weren't so sunny when we were in Carmel, we may have been fooled into thinking we were somewhere far, far away.
Doesn't this look like it could be in the Cotswolds?
We celebrated 3 years of marriage doing what we do best... exploring, eating, drinking and taking in the beautiful scenery.
Brunch at Carmel Belle
We quickly learned that there aren't any street addresses in Carmel-by-the-Sea! It took a little bit to find out where we were going, but I love the charm of it. And, there are so many hidden courtyards and pathways... it would take a while to explore it all. Next time we are visiting, I would love to book a walking tour of the area.
A highlight of the day was whale watching off the coast at the Point Lobos State Reserve. We had no idea whales would be travelling through, so when I spotted the water spouts in the distance by chance, we were mesmerized!
If you look very closely in the middle of the picture below, you can see the water spout from one of the whales!
After exploring the coast, we headed back into town for cocktail hour.
Cocktails at Terry's Lounge at the Cypress Inn...
Champers at Grasings Bar...
And we ended the evening with an amazing French dinner at La Bicyclette, which included escargot... my favorite!
During our adventures downtown, we stumbled upon a year-round Christmas shop (aren't those the best?!) and picked up a little souvenir that I'll share when we put up our tree for Christmas this year!
I couldn't imagine a better man to go on all these adventures with than my dear hubs of 3 years!
