The Nutcracker at the San Francisco Ballet

Before Christmas, Nicholas and I went to see The Nutcracker at the War Memorial Opera House in San Francisco. It was our first time seeing the Nutcracker (it was our first ballet in general!) and I LOVED it. It was so fun to get dressed up and go up to "the city" for an evening.

Before the show, the stopped by the Jardiniere for cocktails. It was right by the theater and a perfect pre-ballet stop.

The Opera House was decked out with Christmas cheer and everyone was in high spirits. I would love to just bottle up that Christmastime feeling!

The show itself was amazing. How cool is it that we saw the Nutcracker in the very same theater in which it made it's American debut in 1944!? We found a great price for seats right up front, too. We were about 6 rows up from the orchestra on the floor!

The dancers were phenomenal - their strength is unbelievable! My favorite scene was when the Snow King and Queen danced... it really snowed on stage!

A glass of champagne and a souvenir Nutcracker ornament later, I was a VERY happy girl!

And of course, we found a gigantic mirror in the Opera House and took a pic of ourselves all gussied up!
