Happy Halloween!

{Dressed up at work with Alysia and Jana!}

Nicholas and I will be drinking wine, passing out candy to trick-or-treaters and getting caught up on Scandal on netflix tonight! (That show is SO addicting.) And, this Easy White Chicken Chili is simmering for dinner! I love our low-key Halloween.

Happy Halloween y'all!

Date Night in Palo Alto

After our fun afternoon at the Pumpkin Patch, we ventured downtown for dinner, dessert and a movie. Except we didn't do it in that order! We had dessert first, then saw a movie, then had dinner. I know, I know... we are so wild and spontaneous!

First stop: CREAM for an ice cream sandwich!

After thoughtful deliberation, we decided on Banana Fudge Walnut ice cream shmooshed (yes, that's the technical term) between two warm and gooey Chocolate Chip cookies. We sat upstairs on the balcony and watched the line get longer and longer... thankfully, we arrived at the perfect time and didn't have much of a wait. (We drove by again after dinner and the line was a block long!)

Next stop: Movie date and $1.50 popcorn at the Stanford Theater. We saw The Lady from Shanghai (1947)... love movie nights here.

Last stop on date night: Nola for some Alligator Boudin and a Shrimp Po'Boy... no pictures, but it was delicious and they had an awesome open air courtyard that felt just like New Orleans!

I love weekends with my hubs!

Webb Ranch Pumpkin Patch

This weekend, Nicholas and I ventured over to the Webb Ranch Pumpkin Patch in Palo Alto to pick up some pumpkins to carve! I loved every second of it.

They had a tractor-led hay ride and bounce house and other fun stuff for the kiddos, but we were just interested in the pumpkins!

Gorgeous white "ghost" pumpkins

 Found one!

I went for a much smaller pumpkin, which turned out to be a GENIUS idea when we finally carved them! Less to clean out and a thinner wall to carve through.

Me and my love:

Don't mind the monster in the background!

Happy Saturday and Happy Birthday!

Well, hello!! Remember me?!

Last Wednesday night, I had dinner at the new Opa in downtown Campbell (one of my fav restaurants!) with my girlfriends and I got reprimanded for not blogging!! I know, I know! I've been so bad, but here I am! I have so much to share. We've been having a lot of fun and if I don't blog about it, I forget all the amazing things we've done.

I do have to say Happy Birthday! to my little younger brother...

Did I ever mention my brother is a zombie?
Haha... this was Halloween last year.

He turns 25 today... which totally freaks me out because I still think I'm 25 sometimes and now there is no way that's possible. My brothers both live in Texas and I haven't seen them in awhile, but I'll get to spend a week with them in December and I am so excited!

Our Saturdays so far this fall have mostly consisted of college football on Saturdays... because we're on Pacific time, a lot of the games have been early in the day! Early football games mean drinking coffee and big breakfasts (this is one of my favorite breakfast casseroles) and staying in our PJs longer than usually deemed acceptable! But, we love it!

As I type, we are cheering on the Huskers and later today we'll be rooting for the TCU Horned Frogs against Texas! Wish we were in Fort Worth for the game!

Rushing the field after TCU beat Utah in 2009. So much fun!

Hope everyone is having a fabulous fall so far!

Farewell Candlestick

(This post is super old but I never published it. Trying to get caught up!)

I finally went to my first 49ers game! I am so happy I was able to catch a game at Candlestick park before the 49ers move down to the new stadium in Santa Clara next season.

Our friends Krista and Jake flew all the way to California from Texas to watch the 49ers play the Houston Texans... and we were all cheering for the 49ers! :)

Nick has been a 49ers fan since he was little, so it was so fun to get to see a game with him.

Before the game, we stopped in downtown Mountain View for lunch at Tied House brewery.

Then, we made our way to the stadium and "tailgated" for a bit.

Almost there...

The 49ers had a pick 6 in our endzone within the first 3 minutes!
Everyone was going wild!

I love this guy...

The sunset was beautiful!
I didn't know where to look... up at the sky or down at the game!

Trying to squeeze us all in a pic! I think it's cute!

Oh, and the 49ers won!
I'm glad Krista and Jake gave us a good reason to go to the game.
Such a fun day!

Krista and Jake came to visit!

(This post is super old but I never published it. Trying to get caught up!)

Our good friends Krista and Jake came to visit from Texas last weekend! We had a fantastic time and just love when we have visitors.

We started the trip off with dinner in Campbell at Blue Line Pizza... I love the Greek pizza there. The next day, we went for a hike at Castle Rock! Nick and I have been there before and we love to break from the hike every so often and watch rock climbers do their thing! (I've never been rock climbing on real rocks... but, I have been rock climbing in the middle of the ocean!)

These three little monkey climbed way up on these rocks, and I was very happy to stay at the bottom and take pictures!

Because when I try climbing up rocks, this is what happens...

Believe it or not, I did finally make it to this cool alcove!

Views from the top...

We took several group pics, but they were all on Krista's camera! Bummer.

While they were here, I also went to my first 49ers game/first NFL game/first & last game at Candlestick park... check out the details here!
